Located within the Los Angeles Unified School District at Vermont and 47th Street, Manual Arts Primary Center #2, is the new home for more than 300 elementary school children and staff.

Situated on a 1.67-acre site, the facility features:

  • Two-story 16-classroom complex with elevator

  • Library center with computer workstations

  • Administration offices complete with Nurses Station

  • Full kitchen with separate Teacher’s Lounge

  • Outside lunch area with covered canopy

  • Multipurpose auditorium, seating up to 380

  • Underground parking garage - underneath the playground area

This facility is concrete slab & wood frame construction. Interior walls are taped, textured, and painted drywall. The roof-mounted HVAC units cool the building, and the building is sprinklered for fire protection. We used parapet walls to hide the rooftop units and give the exterior a uniform appeal. Finally, an acrylic stucco finish covers the exterior for a long-lasting protection against harsh environmental conditions. This facility will be the educational home for many children to come.
